Cardiovascular disease are the disease of heart and blood vessels.It include hypertension,angina pectoris,ischemic heart disease,and myocardial infarction-

 

It is a major cause of death globally.. patients with cardiovascular disease can be asymptomatic and or develop chronic stable angina (pain). It is estimated that people living in urban areas are more prone to heart disease due to their lifestyle 

  1. Cardiac diet is an healthy heart diet which includes reducing fat,salt and cholesterol intake. It's objectives include;
  2. A.  To relieve strain of the heart
  3. B. To prevent further heart complications
  4. C . To restore heart normal function

FOOD RECOMMENTED

 

Soluble fibers : 

Soluble fibers include barely,oats,beans, nuts ,lentils,peas.. They reduce the level of cholesterol by reducing low density lipoprotein(bad cholesterol). They also have other functions like reducing blood pressure and inflammation

Fruits and vegetables :

They reduce the risk heart disease , because they are rich in dietary fiber and low in calories. Include apple,orange, and other citrus fruits, brocolli, cabbage ,green and yellow vegetables.

Omega 3 fatty acids :

They help heart patients to reduce triglycerides ,reducing and lovering blood pressure and blood clots. They are plant oils,nuts and seeds, fish and seafood (tuna,salmon, etc..). They reduce inflammation through out the body. T hereby reducing the risk of stroke,and other heart disease

Low fat diary foods :

They are good for health and have limited amount of cholesterol levels. . Include  skimmed milk,leanfish,low fat yogurt .They reduce the intensity of hypertension, atherosclerosis  due to the reduced level of low density lipoprotein(bad cholesterol)

 

FOODS TO BE AVOIDED

If  you are a heart patient,then definitely you have to control and avoid food that are harmful for your heart . Following are some of the foods that should be avoided for better health of heart. It is important that not only you have to take healthy foods,you also have to reduce foods that can lead to further complications in heart patients

 

1. High intake of salt 

Too much sodium can raise the blood pressure ,dehydrate the body,stiffen the artery and also affects blood clotting.so reduce salt intake as much as possible. Drink a plenty of water to balance electrolyte in our body

2. Red meat

Red meat contains high level of saturated fat which can contribute to the malfunctioning of heart,cancer , diabetes,and premature death. Use lean meat,white fish ...

3. Alcohol 

Drinking too much alcohol can damage heart by weakening heart muscles. Then can leads to interruption in efficient blood pumping by the heart. Alcohol intake can also leads to malfunctioning if other organs like kidney,liver ,brain 

4. Processed food

Processed food are rich in salt and contain high saturated fat. Eating these foods can leads to more harmful complications in heart patients which include hypertension.
